If anyone would have asked Ella if she cared enough about anyone other than herself, a few months ago her answer would have been a solid no. And that was the way she kept it for over three centuries. Since Lara, that had changed and without a second thought the minute that rock hit her Ella flitted into the ring. She landed with her back towards Lara, directly in the path between her and the alpha. Her fangs were extended and her eyes were dark. She barely noticed the pack of wolves that erupted behind her.

Fliss watched as her pack all transformed and moved closer to the ring, fangs out and snarling behind the vampire. Leo was barely able to stand but knowing Lara got hurt he turned around and attempted to stand next to Fliss.

The mountain wolves did the same a dozens of them transformed into wolves, approaching from the other side and before Ella knew it the circle was closed by both packs, hovering on the edges and growling with rage. Fliss tried to squeeze between two of the wolves on her side but was careful not to step in the ring.

“Ella. How many years has it been?” As he laughed he watched as her vampires came out from being concealed amongst the students and placed themselves alongside the wolves. “You would risk stepping into this ring for a human? Hmm, she must be special.”

“Special enough you’ve upset a whole pack.” Fliss shouted out and some of the wolves barked in agreement.

Ella ignored everything and focused on the alpha. “There’s just you and me in this ring. Do you have any last words before I rip your throat out?” She was furious and progressively slipping into a dark place, ready to fight.
