There were ways Laura trusted Mircalla absolutely and ways she didn't. And although Laura would be entirely unsurprised if all the dancers on the floor turned out to be zombies or other horror movie monsters. But drop her in a dip while dancing? Never. Laura bent back effortlessly, smiling when Mircalla called her beautiful, and moving freely with Mircalla's wishes when she was again pulled back onto her feet.

"There's only one Mircalla." Laura shrugged. "But I don't know who she is. All the versions of Mircalla in my head are trying to work out who you are. All of them are ones that do everything I've seen from you, but I haven't seen everything even while, for example, you were behind me." And she smiled. "I'd love to see - but what's the condition?"

Ell looked up to see Carmilla and smiled, gaze roaming over the double of her wife even as she compared the scars the two of them had. "About an hour. But there's always more paperwork and checking contracts to be done. And you all left the door locked, so I assumed you didn't want to be disturbed." She shrugged. "I'm surprised, but I assume that there had to have been a reason to unlock that door and relock it?"
