Carmilla without a second thought put her arms around Laura. A hand coming up to stroke her hair in an attempt to calm. Although she was her usual calm and collected on the outside, the inside told a completely different story. The vampire looked back at LaF who was now past the pain and on to looking around the kitchen with a frown of curiosity.
“What is it?” Carm tensed as another wave of pain hit her, refusing to let to show although Laura might have noticed the sudden tense of her stomach.
LaF gasped. “So I don’t know what’s going on right now but I can see. It hurts….it’s itchy but I can see.” It wasn’t just Carmilla’s face that dropped with surprise but Perry was now completely confused and staring at her friends. “That test implant I got is working too. It’s like I’ve got some sort of x-ray or something. I can see your skull.” LaF cupped their hand over their good eye. “This is awesome. Hey Laura!”
When LaF looked at Laura their expression dropped from happy and curious to worried. “Ugh, when did your heart get so small?” Although Carm’s heart didn’t beat it still gave a comparison on the size Laura’s should be. Regardless, Carm pulled back to look at Laura. Her finger curled under her chin and brought Laura’s face up to look at hers.
“Do you feel tired at all? What are your energy levels like?” The heart comment worried her. More than she was letting on. It was time to start asking some serious questions.
