"A walnut?" Laura frowned. "I'm pretty sure hearts are bigger than that! My heart was when it was out of my chest!" And there was Laura's fire showing itself. "So if it's a walnut now then how does it work at all? That's not enough even for a single working chamber?"
She winced as Carmilla broke the doorframe. "What? Sorry about that." Laura poured the pan of hot milk into the three cups that already had cocoa in them before stirring them. "And I should see what Carm's up to?" She handed the two redheads their cocoa and took hers upstairs, panting slightly just from climbing the stairs.
"Carm?" Laura looked at the book explosion. "What are you looking for?"
