It had taken a bit of work, but LaF had laughed herself silly when she'd heard Laura's plans, and even Perry had helped. But the horror movie channel was, just for tonight, hacked. Carmilla would probably recognise the opening shots of what was initially a black and white horror movie as having been shot in Styria, with a blonde in a white dress running away from a monster seen only by flickering shadows and implied by some music.
And the foolish girl was running towards a mansion as the music built to a haunting pitch. But something was slightly off; for all the classic nature of the opening shots colour was bleeding into the movie even if the castle looked dark, imposing, and as if it was somewhere no damsel in a horror movie should venture.
The runner opened the door, but however imposing the castle the light inside was warm and framed the damsel, also shining through the skirt and showing that she was a honey blonde, with exactly a certain shade of hair. Suddenly there was a noise and the girl looked up in apparent shock as she was deluged in pretty good fake blood, not the stuff Carmilla complained too many horror movies used and was cheap.
And then the reverse shot appeared. The blonde damsel who'd been running towards the camera and was now covered in blood and framed against the doorway was no one but Laura, posing, and with the blood artfully covering her and making the white dress she was wearing seethrough wherever it covered - and it visible that she was wearing nothing underneath.
"Carmilla." Laura smiled at the camera. "For all our life is sometimes a horror movie you've always been the best part of it, and I want to spend the rest of my life and possibly unlife with you." She dropped to one knee, holding out a ring. "Will you marry me?"
She bit her lip. "If the answer's yes, I'm upstairs and waiting for you wearing this dress and have been distracting myself to deal with my nerves since you came in. I'm sure you'll like the results."
