Laura gasped as Carmilla bit her, arching into the as ever slightly painful pleasure that being bitten always was, but her eyes widened as Carmilla didn't stop drinking. Laura hadn't expected Carmilla to move now, and just for a second her mind flickered to her safe word. But this was Carmilla and she trusted Carmilla.
But it would be harder next time and Laura had never believed in waiting. Besides she was getting weaker. And then Carmilla was drawing back and Laura's mouth was filled with blood. At one level it was a turn-on, her body having long associated slightly bloody kisses with Carmilla and hence with turn-ons. But she realised that one of the reasons that vampires took so much blood before feeding it was to suppress someone's gag reflex. And now she couldn't safe-word as the world went grey with Carmilla draining her dry.
Two hours later Carmilla heard the one thing she'd never expected to hear again. Laura's heartbeat.
