Centuries of being a vampire on top years of the years trapped in a coffin and left with nothing but her own thoughts, had hardened Camilla. She had perfected the ability to hide her emotions. Well, all but anger when she was pushed to past her quick wit and sarcasm. Yet, none of this had prepared her for the emotional rollercoaster she had been on since meeting Laura. Everything had changed. It wasn’t easy but the more walls she placed up the more Laura found a way to knock them down. It was becoming a habit.
The both of them had been through so much together.
After Laura had been brought back to life, Carmilla suggested heading back to her mother’s old place and resting until they figured out what their next move would be. La Fontaine had also asked for them to at least stay there at least a few days so they could keep a close eye on Laura and check she was okay and hopefully not possessed by an evil spirit or harboring any psycho tendencies.
While Laura slept on the couch in the front room, Carmilla opened the fridge door hoping her blood stash would still be there. She flicked the lights on low and as she poured herself a drink, noticing it was nearly 3am in the morning. No wonder she was wide awake.
“Great.” She muttered to herself and headed back to the front room where she started looking through all the books left behind by her mother. Clearly they were all hers now right? So why not go through them? Sticking the TV on would just wake Laura up anyway.

Date: 2018-01-09 10:51 pm (UTC)From:Fortunately for her Perry was able to usher everyone out and the second they were Laura lay on the bed shivering. Part of her thinking that versions of that scene would appear in her nightmares and a sneaking part of her knew that it wouldn't just be in her nightmares.
But she knew her girlfriend had slipped out to brood on the roof, and a broody Carmilla could get her head into some complete tangles. Which meant she'd better get dressed and join her to show her that everything was fine.
A few minutes later she appeared on the roof having stolen Carmilla's spare leather trousers and a black top with a plunging neckline in. "The stars are nice, but it's cold out here. And I'm afraid you destroyed my clothes so I had to steal some of yours." Her voice turned low at Laura's attempt at sultry; Carmilla would probably have laughed at her when they first met. "You even destroyed my underwear. So I'm not telling you whether I'm wearing any of yours under this."

Carm picked up another stone, the second one going further into the night sky. The fair lights Laura had put up we’re still going strong and illumination the roof with a verity of rainbow colours. Carm smiles remembering Laura struggling to put them up last time they were up here.
Vampiric hearing kicking in, Carm could hear someone coming up the stairs and new it was Laura from the sound of her heart beat. She wanted to apologise, to say something and Laura know she would never hurt her on purpose. Even though Laura already knew that.
But when she looked up and went to speak, Carm’s expression dropped and the stone she was holding fell to the floor breaking a second silence. Laura in leather? That comment about her underwear? For someone without a heart beat Carm felt that sensation of hers doing a triple summersault in her chest.
“If you’re trying to break me cupcake.?”, Carm couldn’t afford to let this go. She dropped off the wall and went up to Laura, taking her hand and spinning her around slowly to take in what she was wearing. Typically Carm’s favourite leather pants but she would argue they look much sexier on Laura. Carmilla was one hundred percent hot for this look.
“I’m sorry I hurt you...” when Laura stopped the twirl Carm pulled back to take in how much this outfit was working for her.

Date: 2018-01-10 09:00 am (UTC)From:When Laura came back around Carm didn’t expect the hug. In the back of her mind she had told herself not to get too close in case she hurts Laura again but that went out the window as soon as she felt the arms around her. “Hey” Carmilla smiled, catching her girlfriend and resting her head against hers. She wanted to say more, to try and explain how hard it was to control her strength with the effects of Laura’s blood in her system but as soon as Carm took a deep breath and that familiar scent of Laura filled her lungs she felt she was home.
“Wearing leather pants? Calling me yours? I got to admit Hollis I’m liking the possessive side.” Carm was unable to wipe that dark smirk off her face. “Next time, you can be on top and we’ll use the chains. I got stronger ones from when you made be break the last set.”

Which means I know exactly what I'm going to do with you. And we aren't using chains. We're using threads. If you break them we start all over from the top."

Date: 2018-01-10 02:09 pm (UTC)From:That was her way of saying of course she wasn’t afraid and she knew Laura was stopping her from shutting herself down. She’d become very good at catching Carmilla when she let the darkness creep in. Equally, Carm was just as good at picking Laura up when the occasion called for it. Leaving their fingers linked she started to walk them both back inside and away from the cold.
